Single Sign-On Solution in Progress for NHS Health Scotland
According to a recent article by BBC News, some NHS staff are expected to remember up to 15 different passwords for the various systems they use. That’s a lot of passwords. It’s also a lot of confusion and frustration. The importance of features like single sign-on have never been more relevant when looking at the current IT challenges faced by the NHS and change has now become a necessity.
Not all NHS departments are sitting on their hands when it comes to single sign-on however. At Big Red, we are continually working with our client Healthy Working Lives (part of NHS Health Scotland) to achieve improvement. Indeed, the wheels are in motion to provide single sign-on between both of their systems that we have developed and that we continue to support them on. Being bogged down by numerous logins is a time-consuming and impractical approach for any business, but it is particularly unwelcome in an environment where time itself is often the most precious resource of all.
