The crossover happened “officially” in October 2016 and traffic is only headed one way. And this data excludes social media use which would push it even higher in favour of mobile devices.

If you are below 50% then it would pay to check the analytics more closely in case users are trying to access your site on mobile devices and are giving up. If you are above then follow the pathways through that the users are taking to make sure they are getting what they need from the experience.

It is worth noting that all the available data strongly suggests that, at the moment, mobile users prefer to browse but switch back to desktop/laptop when buying. This is because the images and general experience on a larger screen environment is still better for the act of buying products online. This is not the case with tickets and other purchases that don’t have such a need for imagery before a buying decision is made.
